Seaside fun in Weymouth

In the press this past week I noticed Weymouth has been named Britain's best beach according to travellers on TripAdvisor. I can totally see why. We've had three wonderful breaks in Dorset and each time we based ourselves in Weymouth staying in a holiday park just a ten minute bus ride from the beach.

An endless stretch of sand invites you to get creative with a bucket and spade, something my boys fully indulged in. Donkey rides, ice creams, a family funfair and amusements the whole experience screams a traditional seaside family holiday.

Granted each time we've been very lucky with the weather each time we have visited. Even if the sun isn't out the promenade is great for a bracing family walk. There's a great fish and chip restaurant that serves children's portions in a bucket, it's quite a novelty 'sitting in' to eat fish and chips.

I'd definitely recommend this gorgeous seaside town if you get the chance, plenty to explore in the area including Portland Bill a short drive away from Weymouth. The views from this lighthouse are amazing.
